This Week In Pac-10 Soccer
After having seven Pac-10 squads make the NCAA Tournament, three are left standing after the first and second rounds of action. No. 1 seed STANFORD will host Pac-10 rival UCLA in the round of 16 on Friday, Nov. 19 at 7:00 p.m. PT. The Bruins will be looking to avenge a 2-0 loss to the Cardinal in Pac-10 play earlier this season. The Cardinal on the other hand, will look to extend its 33-game home win streak at Laird Q. Cagan Stadium. After a stunning performance by WASHINGTON in the second round of the tournament, where they defeated perennial favorite Portland, 10-9 in penalty kicks, the Huskies will look to continue their Cinderella run against UC Irvine on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 6:00 p.m. PT in Irvine, Calif. The Huskies were led by GK Jorde LaFontaine-Kussmann, who made 13 saves in the match, as well as netting a penalty kick of her own and coming up with the game-winning penalty kick save. For her efforts she was named CS360 National Primetime Player of the Week.
