BERKELEY - The seventh-seeded California volleyball team (27-3) advanced to the Seattle Regional semifinal of the 2010 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship as the Golden Bears defeated North Carolina (25-10) in three sets (25-13, 25-18, 25-18) in the second round at Haas Pavilion on Saturday, Dec. 4.
Stanford Downs Colorado State, Advances To Fifth Straight Regional
STANFORD, Calif. - Behind Alix Klineman's 18 kills, the third-seeded Stanford women's volleyball team advances to its fifth consecutive regional with a 3-0 win over No. 17 Colorado State, Saturday at Maples Pavilion. Set scores were 28-26, 25-13, 25-15 as the Cardinal move to 26-3 on the season. The Rams finish their season with a 26-5 overall record.
USC Back In Sweet 16 After Four-Set Win Against San Diego
LOS ANGELES - Junior All-America outside hitter Alex Jupiter (Paris, France/Redondo Union) recorded a match-high 23 kills Saturday as the No. 6 seed USC Women of Troy defeated the San Diego Toreros, 3-1 (25-15, 25-20, 22-25, 31-29), in the second round of the 2010 NCAA Women's Volleyball Tournament at the Galen Center.
Ninth-Ranked Bruins Drop Four-Set Decision to #6 Texas
AUSTIN, Texas - Sophomore Rachael Kidder notched 22 kills, senior Dicey McGraw added 18 and junior Sara Sage totaled 11, but the ninth-ranked Bruins fell to #9-seed and sixth-ranked Texas in four sets on Saturday in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Set scores were 23-25, 25-20, 18-25, 24-26.
