USC's Jones and Ishimatsu Named Pac-10 Divers of the Month
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - USC juniors Harrison Jones and Victoria Ishimatsu have been named Pac-10 Divers of the Month for November, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today.
Jones won six of the nine events in which he competed in November. The Spring, Texas, native swept the diving events at the USC Diving Invitational, taking top honors in the 1-meter (363.15), 3-meter (351.55) and platform (376.70). In a dual meet with Arizona, Jones won both the 1-meter and the 3-meter events. He also received the top score in the 1-meter (403.13) against Arizona State.
Ishimatsu also won six of the nine events in November and was unbeaten on the 1-meter. A native of Seal Beach, Calif., Ishimatsu took home first place on the 1-meter and 3-meter at the USC Diving Invitational and in the dual meet with the Wildcats. Against ASU, Ishimatsu won the 1-meter (319.73) and placed second in the 3-meter. She also won the 1-meter at the Wildcat Diving Invitational.
This is Jones' second career Pac-10 Diver of the Month honor and the second for the USC men all-time. On the women's side, this is Ishimatsu's fourth career monthly award and the Trojans' eighth all-time, the most in the Conference.
