Scouting The Huskies: Jake Locker
Sr. QB - Washington
Ht. 6'3" Wt. 230
Tremendous arm. Can zip the ball 40 yards on a line. Excellent deep accuracy. Can put ball in tight spots downfield.
Good, but needs to improve as some balls tend to sail on him. His deep ball placement is his strength.
Very fast and quick to set up. Can move quickly away from pressure. Doesn't take many sacks.
Throw on move
Very impressive. Can roll left or right and make precision intermediate throws when moving outside.
Turns in to a running back outside the pocket. Has speed to make the big first down run, a huge plus for him.
Knows when and where to throw the ball away. Needs some work here as he does tend to lock on to primary target often.
A classic winner who wants the ball in his hands with the game on the line. Plays with confidence. Consistent performer.
This is a rare athlete for the QB position. Stayed in school for his senior season trying to lead Washington to the postseason. Has outstanding speed and quickness with a cannon for an arm. Can make the big plays with both his feet and arm. He rarely takes sacks as he can escape pressure, roll outside and make accurate throws on the move. Has been highly publicized throughout his college career and deservedly so. Reminds me some of Brett Favre coming out of Southern Mississippi, who wasn't always consistent but had rare physical gifts as a passer. Needs some fine-tuning, but this is a franchise NFL Quarterback in my opinion. Should have an outstanding NFL career.
