Spotlight: Arizona's Amanda Beard

Amanda Beard was a 10-time All American and 2001 NCAA individual champion during her two years at Arizona. She held the Arizona record in both the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke for nearly 10 years. After her sophomore season, Beard turned pro.

Beard is the most decorated Olympic athlete in Arizona history. After competing in four different Olympic games and earning seven total medals, including two gold medals, Beard has cemented her place as one of the top U.S. swimmers ever. In 2012, Beard will try for her fifth consecutive Olympic Games, a feat never accomplished by a swimmer.
