WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - WASHINGTON's Isaiah Thomas was named Pac-10 Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of February 7-13, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today. The junior guard led the Huskies to a sweep of California and Stanford over the weekend.
The Tacoma, Wash., native averaged 22.5 points, 5.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds and shot 56.5 percent from the field as Washington snapped a three-game losing streak. In the 109-77 win over the Golden Bears on Thursday, Thomas recorded 23 points, nine assists and four rebounds and hit a career-high six three-pointers in just 26 minutes of action. In Washington's 87-76 win over Stanford on Saturday, Thomas closed out the final 2:38 of the first half by scoring 14 of the Huskies' 17 points after going scoreless until then.
