FULLERTON, Calif. - Rebounding from a two-run showing in the first game of the day, the No. 10/11 California softball team exploded for 18 runs in an 18-8 victory over IPFW on Friday afternoon in the second game at the DeMarini Classic.
Cats Down Bears, 3-2, in Nine Innings
FULLERTON, Calif. - After seven innings of scoreless play, the No. 10/11 California softball team broke open the Friday morning game against Northwestern with two runs in the eighth. The Wildcats responded with two scores of their own in the bottom half of the inning and tacked on one more in the bottom of the ninth to take the 3-2 decision.

FULLERTON, Calif. - The No. 14/16 Stanford softball team improved to 14-3, Friday, as it defeated Southern Miss, 5-0, and Iowa, 2-1, at the DeMarini Invitational in Fullerton, Calif. The Golden Eagles dropped to 8-8 on the season, while the Hawkeyes fell to 7-6.

TUCSON, Ariz. - No. 4 Arizona (16-2) opened the Hillenbrand Invitational with a pair of wins over Utah State and Portland State, both of which came in run-rule shortened games. The Cats beat the Aggies 11-3 in six and Portland State 8-0 in five.
Escobedo Leads No. 7 Arizona State to Two Wins To Open Wilson/DiMarini Invitational
TEMPE, Ariz. - A three-hit complete game shutout and a save highlighted the day for Dallas Escobedo as she stepped up to lead the No. 7 ASU Softball to two wins to open the Wilson/DiMarini Invitational Friday night. The Sun Devils topped ECU 11-0(5) and Northern Iowa 6-1 with Escobedo moving to 8-0 on the year and Popescue moving to 3-1 as ASU holds at 14-1 overall.
