Pac-10 Conference Unveils New Pac-12 Logo Through Music Video
With a little music, a collection of energetic students and colorful cards, the Pac-10 has become 12.
The Pac-10 Conference, in preparation for the 2011-12 academic year when the University of Colorado and University of Utah officially become members, has unveiled its new Pac-12 mark through a music video featuring dozens of students performing a card routine that has been released on YouTube.
The Pac-12 students showcase the new Pac-12 logo with a card performance that might otherwise be seen in the student section during a college football game. A group of more than 20 animated students wearing sports uniforms from all of the member institutions, show off their personalities and dance their way to the logo unveiling.
"With so many of our fans active on social media outlets like YouTube, Facebook and Twitter, we wanted to create something that could easily be shared and we felt this would be a fun and natural way for us to launch the new Pac-12 mark," Chief Marketing Officer Danette Leighton said. "We wanted to do something creative that allowed some of our student-athletes and fans to give the new logo life. We also wanted to reflect the enthusiasm that all of our institutions have for the Pac-12 becoming a reality this summer."
Colorado and Utah were accepted as new members of the Pac-10 last June and will officially make the Conference the Pac-12 on July 1, 2011.
