Pac-10 Women's Rowers Receive USRowing Camp Invitations

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Thirteen Pac-10 women's rowers received invitations to USRowing's Under 23 National Team, National Team Pre-Elite and National Team Freshman Camps.

The Under 23 National Team Selection Camp will select the women's eight and quadruple sculls crews that will compete at the 2011 World Rowing Under 23 Championships, July 21-24 in Amsterdam. In addition, coaches will select boats in the women's pair, four and double sculls that will compete at the 2011 USRowing Under 23 World Championships Trials to be held June 27-29 on Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J. The winners of these trials will also earn the right to compete in Amsterdam.

STANFORD's Grace Luczak and WASHINGTON's Kerry Simmonds won gold in the women's eight at the 2010 World Rowing Under 23 Championships.

The National Team Pre-Elite Camp is focused on developing athletes for the under 23 and senior national teams, while the National Team Freshman Camp is intended for athletes with elite-level potential and aspirations who are freshman in college or have only one or two years of rowing experience.
