Mandy Urfer Lights Up The Boards to Lead No. 1 ASU Over No. 9 UCLA
TEMPE, Ariz. - With two home runs from Mandy Urfer and a complete-game shutout from Dallas Escobedo, the No. 1 Arizona State softball team collected their third Pac-10 series win of the year and second consecutive against defending NCAA champion, UCLA Sunday with a 5-0 win.
Cal Sweeps Series With 5-2 Sunday Win
BERKELEY - It took 14 complete innings for the No. 17 Oregon softball team to get a run past home plate. But two scores in the top of the first on Sunday would be all the runs the Ducks would muster against No. 13 California, which beat the Oregon, 5-2, to sweep the series.
Cardinal Completes Sweep Over Beavers
STANFORD, Calif. - The 11th-ranked Stanford softball team completed the sweep over Oregon State, 3-1, Sunday at Smith Family Stadium. The Cardinal improves to 30-8 overall and 5-4 in the Pac-10, while the Beavers fall to 18-16 on the season and 1-8 in the conference.
Cats Take Series with 6-1 Win
TUCSON - Arizona scored six runs on 10 hits while getting a stellar pitching performance from Kenzie Fowler and Shelby Babcock to defeat the Huskies and win the series, 6-1.
