BERKELEY, Calif. - The 10th-ranked Stanford softball team held on to even the series at No. 12 California with a 2-1 win, Friday, at Levine-Fricke Field in Berkeley, Calif. The Cardinal improves to 32-9 overall and 6-5 in the Pac-10, while the Golden Bears fall to 29-9 on the year and 6-5 in the conference.
11th-Ranked Bruins Do Their Yard Work in Win Over #9 Washington
LOS ANGELES - #11 UCLA has scored over 40 percent of its runs via the homer this season, but the Bruins made it 100 percent on Friday night, as junior Andrea Harrison and sophomore B.B. Bates hit two-run bombs and freshman Alyssa Tiumalu added a solo shot in a 5-2 victory over #9 Washington at Easton Stadium.
Dallas Escobedo Dominant As No. 2 Softball Tops No. 7 Arizona To Open Rivalry Series
TUCSON, Ariz. - In an 11 strikeout complete game shutout, Dallas Escobedo, coupled with Katelyn Boyd's grand slam heroics saved the day Thursday afternoon as the No. 2 Arizona State Softball team took a 4-0 win from in-state rival, No. 7 Arizona in only the second win in 20 years in Tucson for ASU. Escobedo moves to 20-3 on the year as ASU improves to 40-5 overall and 7-3 in Pac-10 play as Shelby Babcock took the loss for UA to move to 15-3 while UA drops to 36-9 overall and 7-3 as well in conference play.
