PAC-10 BASEBALL NOTES

• The Pac-10 has three teams ranked in the Baseball America poll: Oregon State (3), Arizona State (7) and California (21).

• Pac-10 Pitcher of the Week Oregon State RS JR LHP Josh Osich became the first Beaver pitcher to throw a complete-game no-hitter since 1947. He is also the first Pac-10 pitcher to throw a no-hitter against a league opponent since Stanford's Jason Middlebrook did it in 1994. Osich struck out a career-best 13 with his only blemish coming in the fourth inning when he issued a walk with two outs. The Beavers defeated UCLA, 2-0, in Saturday's game.

• Arizona State SO DH Joey DeMichele became the first Sun Devil since Jeff Larish in the 2005 College World Series to homer three times in one game when he blasted three in Sunday's 7-1 win over Stanford.

• Both Osich and DeMichele were named Louisville Slugger National Players of the Week by Collegiate Baseball.

• Arizona continues to lead the Conference in hitting with a .325 batting average, which ranks fourth in the NCAA. SO OF Joey Rickard is batting .384 to lead all players.

• The Wildcats recorded its first conference sweep of the year with three wins over visiting USC. SO RF Robert Refsnyder belted a pair of home runs and added a double and a triple with eight RBI over the weekend.

• Washington State JR OF Patrick Claussen tied a career high with four hits in Saturday's 11-6 win over Washington. Claussen had a double and a triple and also drove in a career-high five runs.

• Four Pac-10 pitchers are ranked in the top-20 of the NCAA in strikeouts this season. UCLA JR RHP Trevor Bauer leads the country with 142. Arizona SO RHP Kurt Heyer is third with 97, followed by Oregon JR LHP Tyler Anderson at No. 5 (92) and Bruin JR RHP Gerrit Cole at No. 20 (81).

• California now has five walk-off wins this season with two in the Oregon series over the weekend. FR LHP/OF Michael Theofanopoulos had the game-winning pinch hit double on Friday while SR INF/OF Austin Booker came through with a game-winning RBI single on Sunday.

• Eight Pac-10 players are on the 2011 Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List: Tyler Anderson, Trevor Bauer, Gerrit Cole, Stanford SO SS Kenny Diekroeger, OSU JR RHP Sam Gaviglio, Kurt Heyer, ASU SO SS Deven Marrero and USC JR 1B Ricky Oropesa.
