TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State defeated the Long Beach State Dirtbags Saturday 9-2 behind a strong pitching performance by Kramer Champlin and a big night at the plate by Joey DeMichele. Champlin (7-2) was brilliant for 8.0 innings, allowing only two runs and scattering seven hits while striking out seven, earning the win and helping ASU improve to 34-11 on the year.

PULLMAN, Wash. - Chad Arnold pitched seven innings of one-run ball and Washington State defeated UNLV 4-3 in nonconference baseball at Bailey-Brayton Field, Saturday. Arnold (2-3) gave up seven hits, walked three and struck out five. The redshirt-senior threw 72 of his 111 pitches for strikes. Paris Shewey notched his ninth save with a 1-2-3 ninth inning.
