ARIZONA STATE becomes first consensus No. 1 team in the nation this week, topping both the NFCA and USA Softball polls.
Seven of eight Pac-10 teams are ranked in the national polls. Joining the Sun Devils are ARIZONA, CALIFORNIA, OREGON, OREGON STATE, STANFORD, UCLA and WASHINGTON.
Stanford JR 2B Ashley Hansen ranks third in the nation with a .506 batting average. Washington's Kimi Pohlman ranks No. 21 with a .436 batting average and Arizona State's Katelyn Boyd is also ranked in the top 25, at No. 24 with a .433 batting average.
California sophomore Jolene Henderson has been a star in the circle for the Golden Bears this season, as she leads the Conference with a .81 ERA.
Arizona State freshman Dallas Escobedo has been excellent for the Sun Devils, leading the way with 248 strikeouts on the year.
On April 8, UCLA had a record 52 at bats against Stanford at home in a record 14.0 inning game. Combined both teams had 103 at bats.
Stanford's Sarah Hassman had a record 5 runs scored on Feb. 18 vs. Utah State.
The Pac-10 celebrates 25 years of women's athletics, including 124 NCAA team titles. Softball has a lauded history of success which the Pac-10 carries with pride today.
