In the regular season, No. 2 California won three out of four races, including a half-second victory over Stanford in the varsity eight, to capture its fourth-straight Pac-10 title. The Golden Bears, which finished second at the 2010 NCAA Championships, won the team title in 2005 and 2006. No. 4 Stanford, the Pac-10 runner-up, is participating in the NCAA Championships as a team for the third-straight year. The Cardinal captured the NCAA title in 2009, the most recent Pac-10 school to do so. No. 5 USC finished third at the conference championships and is making its fifth team appearance at NCAAs. The Trojans' three-consecutive team appearances are the first in program history. With its 15th-straight bid, No. 9 Washington is one of three programs to make the NCAA Championships each year since its inception in 1997. The squad placed fourth at the Pac-10 Championships. The Huskies were the first Pac-10 team to win an NCAA team title, taking the inaugural championship in 1997 before winning again in 1998 and 2001. No. 11 Washington State, fifth-place finishers at Pac-10s and the host for the NCAA Championships, will make its sixth overall and second-straight team appearance.
