Plutko and Porter Named NCBWA Freshman All-Americans

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - UCLA right-handed pitcher Adam Plutko and CALIFORNIA left-handed pitcher Kyle Porter were named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Freshman All-America Second Team, the organization announced Monday.



UCLA right-handed pitcher Adam Plutko finished the season with a 2.01 ERA and a 7-4 record. An All-Conference team selection, he tallied 92 strikeouts, which ranks eighth in the Pac-10.



California left-handed pitcher Kyle Porter is 5-0 with a 1.59 ERA, 53 strikeouts and three saves. Porter pitched one inning in the Golden Bears' 6-2 win over Dallas Baptist on Sunday to advance to the College World Series.
