Top 10 Billing For Oregon, Stanford

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.-- The Pac-12 Conference boasts a pair of Top 10 teams in the Preseason USA Today Coaches' Top 25 rankings with No. 3 OREGON and No. 6 STANFORD.

For No. 6 Stanford, it's the first time ranked in the preseason since 1997 when the Cardinal were 18th. Stanford is coming off a 12-1 season as well, including a victory over Virginia Tech in the Discover Orange Bowl.

Both Oregon and Stanford return Heisman Trophy finalists in junior running back LaMichael James and junior quarterback Andrew Luck.

Also receiving votes were ARIZONA STATE, UTAH, ARIZONA, OREGON STATE and WASHINGTON.

The Pac-12 football season gets underway on Thursday, Sept. 1 with Utah hosting Montana State, and Arizona State hosting UC Davis.
