Taylor Named Player of the Week
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. — STANFORD forward Lindsay Taylor has been named Bank of the West Pac-12 Women's Soccer Player of the Week for Sept. 5-12, Commissioner Larry Scott announced Tuesday.
Taylor led a late comeback over defending champion Notre Dame by scoring the tying goal and assisting on the game-winner—all within the final 10 minutes of the match—to give Stanford a 2-1 victory in a rematch of last year's NCAA championship final.
The Los Altos, Calif., native has scored a team-high six goals on the season. Stanford has maintained a 6-0-1 record and is now the top-ranked team in the country.
This is Taylor's second Conference Player of the Week honor and the 30th all-time selection for Stanford.
Stanford faces Portland in a televised match at 7 p.m. PT on Thursday on the Fox Soccer Channel. The Cardinal wraps up a big road weekend at No. 19 Santa Clara on Sunday at 8 p.m. PT.
Also Nominated: Katie Benz, CAL; Colleen Boyd, OSU; Sydney Leroux, UCLA; McKel Wall, UTAH; Jorde LaFontaine-Kussmann WASH; Brandi Vega, WSU.
