Hoffman Named Player of the Week
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - UCLA junior forward Chandler Hoffman was named Bank of the West Pac-12 Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 13-19, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today.
The Birmingham, Ala., native produced a hat trick in the second half on Friday to lead the Bruins to a 3-2 come from behind victory over No. 6/9 UC Santa Barbara. It was the fifth-consecutive match that Hoffman scored a goal in, tying a UCLA record held by Joe Max-Moore and Billy Thompson. He also earned College Soccer News National Player of the Week and was named to Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week for his performance. Hoffman has scored seven goals in his last six games and leads the Pac-12 in goals (7) and points (14).
This is Hoffman's second weekly honor and UCLA's 42nd all-time Player of the Week.
The Bruins host Seattle on Friday, Sept. 23 at 5 p.m. PT and SMU on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 1 p.m. PT before opening conference play next week.
