Stanford's Ubogagu Named Player of the Week
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. — STANFORD forward Chioma Ubogagu has been named Bank of the West Pac-12 Women's Soccer Player of the Week for Oct. 3-10, Commissioner Larry Scott announced Tuesday.
The freshman scored two goals in the first 18 minutes of Sunday's 4-1 victory over then-No. 3 UCLA to keep No. 1 Stanford undefeated. Ubogagu also took five shots in Friday's 3-0 win over USC. The Coppell, Texas, product now has six goals on the season.
This is Ubogagu's first Pac-12 Player of the Week honor and the 31st all-time selection for Stanford.
The Cardinal will play under the national spotlight Friday when Stanford faces ASU at 7 p.m. PT in the Fox Soccer Channel College Game of the Week.
