UCLA'S KELYN ROWE NAMED PLAYER OF THE YEAR
CALIFORNIA'S SETH CASIPLE NAMED FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR
UCLA'S JORGE SALCEDO NAMED COACH OF THE YEAR

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - In a vote by the Conference coaches, UCLA sophomore midfielder Kelyn Rowe was named Pac-12 Player of the Year, California freshman midfielder Seth Casiple was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and UCLA head coach Jorge Salcedo was named Pac-12 Coach of the Year, as Commissioner Larry Scott announced the men's soccer all-conference honors today.

Pac-12 Player of the Year -- Kelyn Rowe, UCLA
The Federal Way, Wash., native becomes the fourth UCLA player to earn Conference Player of the Year honors. Rowe joins Matt Taylor (2003), Patrick Ianni (2004) and Michael Stephens (2008) as the other Bruins to win the award. A two-time first team All-Conference honoree and the 2010 Pac-10 Freshman of the Year, the sophomore midfielder is second on the team with five goals and 18 points. Rowe is also tied for the Pac-12 lead with eight assists this season. Rowe leads UCLA to its 39th all-time NCAA Tournament appearance, earning the No. 13 seed and a first-round bye.

Pac-12 Freshman of the Year -- Seth Casiple, California
Casiple is the first Cal player to win Conference Freshman of the Year. The midfielder from Rocklin, Calif., started all 17 games, tallying one goal and six assists for eight points in his first season with the Golden Bears. His six assists rank fourth in the Pac-12. Casiple scored his first collegiate goal in a 1-1 tie with San Diego State on November 6.

Pac-12 Coach of the Year -- Jorge Salcedo, UCLA

After leading the Bruins to their third Conference title in four years and seventh overall this season, Jorge Salcedo was voted Pac-12 Coach of the Year. This is the third award for Salcedo, who also won the honor in 2004 and 2008. In his eighth season leading the Bruins, Salcedo has guided his teams to the NCAA Tournament each year and extended UCLA's streak to 29th consecutive postseason appearances. UCLA finished the regular season with a 15-4-1 overall record and a 10-0-0 record in Pac-12 play.
