Hoffman Among MAC Hermann Semifinalists

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - UCLA junior forward Chandler Hoffman is among the 15 men's semifinalists for the 2011 Missouri Athletic Club's (MAC) Hermann Trophy, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced Sunday. The MAC Hermann Trophy is the most prestigious individual award in intercollegiate soccer.

An All-Pac-12 performer, Hoffman has scored 18 goals and tallied 40 points this season to pace the Bruins and Pac-12 on offense. He ranks ninth in the country with 0.78 goals per game as the Bruins head to the College Cup. No. 13 seed UCLA will face top-seeded North Carolina on Friday, December 9 at 8:30 p.m. ET.

The recipient of the MAC Hermann Trophy is selected by Division I head coaches who are current members of the NSCAA. Three finalists will be announced on December 9. The winner will be announced at a news conference on Friday, January 6, 2012, in St. Louis.
