November Divers of the Month
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - ARIZONA senior Ben Grado and USC senior Victoria Ishimatsu have been named Pac-12 Divers of the Month for November, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today.
Grado won seven of eight events in November. At the USC Diving Invitational, he swept all three events, winning the 1-meter (367.95), 3-meter (424.15) and platform (338.10). He won both springboard events in the dual meet with the Trojans, scoring 368.83 on the 1-meter and 418.28 on the 3-meter. At the Wildcat Diving Invitational, Grado captured the 1-meter (372.45) and platform (378.60) and placed third on the 3-meter (384.20).
Ishimatsu won seven events, sweeping Arizona and Arizona State and all three events at the USC Diving Invitational. She scored 306.95 on the 1-meter, 333.35 on the 3-meter and 254.25 on the platform for wins in the Trojans' meet. She won the spring-board events in dual meets against the Arizona schools, tallying 296.93 on the 1-meter and 308.63 on the 3-meter against the Wildcats and 321.53 and 345.38 against the Sun Devils.
This is Grado's second career Diver of the Month award and the third for Arizona all-time. For Ishimatsu, it is her sixth monthly honor and USC's 10th, both the most in Conference history.
