Four Earn College Soccer News Honors
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Three UCLA men's soccer players were named to the College Soccer News All-America Team, the publication announced Monday. Junior forward Chandler Hoffman and sophomore midfielder Kelyn Rowe earned second-team honors and redshirt senior goalkeeper Brian Rowe was named to the third team. Additionally, CALIFORNIA freshman midfielder Seth Casiple was named to the All-Freshman second team.
Hoffman, a MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist and third-team NSCAA All-American, led the Pac-12 in goals (18) and points (42). He finished the season ranked fourth in the NCAA in both total goals and total points.
Kelyn Rowe, the 2011 Pac-12 Player of the Year, had 10 assists to lead the Conference and rank eighth nationally. He also tallied six goals and 22 points.
Brian Rowe posted a career-best 12 shutouts this season, the most by a Bruin goalkeeper since Eric Reed had 12 in 2005. A second-team NSCAA All-American, Rowe's 0.75 goals against average ranked 19th in the NCAA.
Casiple, the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, started all 17 games for the Golden Bears. He recorded one goal and six assists for eight points.
