December Divers Of The Month
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - STANFORD freshman Kristian Ipsen and UCLA freshman Emma Ivory-Ganja have been named Pac-12 Divers of the Month for December, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today.
Ipsen won the synchronized 3-meter title at the USA Diving Winter National Championships. He and his partner scored 883.44, 90 points ahead of the second-place competitors. He also earned a silver on the 3-meter with 1516.55 points, finishing just two-tenths of a point behind the winner. Ipsen secured spots in both events at the FINA World Cup in London in February.
Ivory-Ganja also had solid performances at Winter Nationals. She scored 312.00 in the platform final, narrowly missing the UCLA record by 0.70 points. She had a combined score of 863.55 during all rounds of platform to finish 11th. Ivory-Ganja also competed on the synchronized platform, finishing fifth with 543.63 points, and the synchronized 3-meter, placing seventh with 507.12.
This is the first Diver of the Month honor for both Ipsen and Ivory-Ganja. It is Stanford's third monthly honor on the men's side. UCLA has won eight women's awards.
