Cal's Homa: Men's Golfer Of The Month
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- Max Homa of CALIFORNIA has been named the Pac-12 Men's Golfer of the Month for February, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today.
Homa, a junior from Valencia, Calif., finished second at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate with a 7-under par 209 (66-71-72) to lead California to its third regular-season victory this season, tying a school record. His opening-round 66 tied for his lowest score of the year.
Homa then played in the top spot in the lineup for California at the prestigious eight-team Del Walker Match Play Championship where he defeated Oregon's Eugene Wong (4 & 3) and Oregon State's Alex Moore (2 & 1). Wong is currently ranked No. 2 nationally by Golfstat and No. 3 by Golfweek, while Moore is one of two defending Pac-10 individual medalists.
