UCLA Earns Top Seed For Championships
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. — Based on the NCAA regional qualifying scores, team seedings for Saturday's inaugural Pac-12 Women's Gymnastics Championships were determined, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today.
UCLA earned the top seed with a regional qualifying score (RQS) of 197.140 for Saturday's 2012 Pac-12 Women's Gymnastics Championships at the Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City.
Host Utah earned the No. 2 seed with a RQS of 196.705. The Bruins and Utes, along with No. 3 Oregon State (196.550 RQS) and No. 4 Stanford (196.315 RQS), will compete in the 7 p.m. MT session Saturday.
The 2 p.m. MT session will feature the No. 5 seed, Arizona, which owns a 195.870 RQS. Washington is the No. 6 seed, tallying a RQS of 195.595. Arizona State (195.145 RQS) and California (193.070 RQS) round out the afternoon competitors, earning the No. 7 and 8 seeds, respectively.
Championship competition will be expanded to two sessions for the first time this year. Teams and student-athletes from both sessions are eligible for the team and individual awards. Below lists the event at which each team will start Saturday. Competition will proceed in Olympic order.

Team regional qualifying scores are based on the team's six best regular-season-meet scores, and three scores must be from away competition. To obtain the regional qualifying score (RQS), the high score is eliminated and the remaining five scores are averaged.
Oregon State will be defending its 2011 Conference title, while host Utah will look to win the institution's first-ever Pac-12 Championship. Tickets are available at utahtickets.com.
