Led by junior standout Tom Shields' national titles in the 100 fly and the 100 back, the Cal men's swimming team continued its assault on another NCAA team title Friday night (March 23) during Day Two of the 2012 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships held at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash. After 14 events, the Golden Bears hold an 379.5-343.5 lead over second place Texas.

Freshmen Rule Day Two of NCAAs as Ipsen 1st, Nolan 2nd
Freshman Kristian Ipsen became the first Stanford diver in 82 years to win an NCAA diving championship, winning the 3-Meter on Friday with a final score of 466.05. Classmate David Nolan was an NCAA runner-up in the 100 back as Stanford is in fourth place with one day to go.
Colupaev Takes 2nd In NCAA 200y Free
Sophomore Dimitri Colupaev broke USC's school record in the 200y free en route to a second-place finish to lead No. 5 USC in the second night at the 2012 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday (March 23) at the Weyerhauser Aquatics Center in Federal Way, Wash.
