PAC-12 SOFTBALL NOTES

It is a busy week for the Pac-12 with seven teams playing two conference series. These teams will play a mid-week series with a doubleheader on Tuesday followed by a single game on Wednesday.

California remains the unanimous No. 1 team in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll and received 29 of 30 first-place votes in the USA Today/NFCA rankings. The Pac-12 continues to lead all conferences with eight teams in the top-25.

Oregon JR OF Samantha Pappas earned Pac-12 Player of the Week after hitting .556 and helping the Ducks win two of three at Stanford. Arizona State SR P Hillary Bach earned her third Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week award after allowing only one run on five hits in Friday's 9-1 win over UCLA.

Four Pac-12 players are finalists for the 2012 Lowe's Senior CLASS Award. Cal SR 1B/P Valerie Arioto, ASU SR SS Katelyn Boyd, Stanford SR SS Ashley Hansen and Washington SR UTIL Niki Williams were among the 10 finalists chosen from the list of 30 candidates.

Cal swept its third series of the season to improve to 9-0 in the Pac-12. FR 3B Danielle Henderson scored six runs and drove in seven for the Bears. She hit .571 with three home runs.

After Arizona State's sweep of UCLA, SR 1B Annie Lockwood moved up in the record books to seventh in RBI (158), 17th in doubles (20) and 21st in hits (163). She was 4-for-10 against the Bruins with three hits, three RBI and a double.

Arizona FR SS Shelby Pendley batted .556 with an RBI double and a home run as the Wildcats took two of three from Washington. She also recorded three assists and seven putouts. Arizona's .985 fielding percentage is the best in the NCAA.

Oregon State, back in the rankings after a four-year absence, is more than 15 games over .500 for the first time since 2007.
