2012 Media Day: Mike Leach considers hunting partners

By Kevin Danna, pac-12.org

Media members expected a lively Washington State segment at Tuesday's Pac-12 Media Day in Los Angeles, and Mike Leach more than delivered.

The Washington State head coach recently went bear hunting. Asked on the podium if he had to pick a fellow Pac-12 head coach to be his new hunting partner who it would be, Leach picked Utah's Kyle Whittingham... but not before seriously considering Arizona's Rich Rodriguez. "He's spent a lot time in West Virginia background, so we have to recognize some potential runoff there," Leach said.

Why Whittingham? "He's a tenacious guy and knows Utah very well," Leach said. "If you're going hunting in Utah, he would be a key guy to have around."
