2012 Media Day: Oregon State running back to running backs
By Kevin Danna, pac-12.org
Mike Riley has been around for a while. Heck, he remembers when the Pac-12 was the Pac-8 and his dad was coaching at Oregon State.
Being the longest-tenured head coach in the conference, Riley knows the ingredients that will lead to Beaver success. So it should come as no surprise that he wants to get back to grinding it on the ground. Though he has not yet identified a feature back a la Jacquizz Rodgers and Steven Jackson, Riley is optimistic about the guys he'll have lining up behind Sean Mannion this season.
"Coming out of spring ball I think we had a number of backs who did well," Riley said at Tuesday's Pac-12 football media day in L.A. "We will add a guy this fall and let them play a little bit and make decisions about how that works."
