"As soon as we starting locking up on defense, we got easy buckets on transition," UCLA junior forward Travis Wear said about the game against the Sharks. "Things started clicking for us."

UCLA’s tour included two games against Chinese university teams as part of the inaugural China-U.S. University Sports Week, a collaboration between the Pac-12, NCAA and the Federation of University Sports of China. On Saturday, UCLA defeated Tsinghua University of Beijing by a score of 116-68 and, on Monday, the Bruins defeated Shanghai Jiao Tong University, 72-31.
Along with a 3-0 record on the tour, the UCLA delegation, which included the team, coaching staff, the UCLA cheer team and UCLA administrators, was able to enjoy some incredible cultural experiences during their tour of China. A visit to the Badaling section of the Great Wall outside Beijing on Friday was one of the highlights. “Just knowing that we visited one of the Seven Wonders of the World is unreal,” said UCLA junior center Josh Smith. “It's an unbelievable structure, especially given the historical significance.”
Off-the-court highlights in Shanghai included a boat tour on the Huangpu River, shopping at the Yu Yuan Gardens and a trip to the top of the World Financial Center, the third tallest building in the world.
The Pac-12 and UCLA's participation in the China-U.S. University Sports Week is part of the Pac-12 Conference’s Globalization Initiative, which promotes the Conference and its member institutions through educational collaboration, cultural exchange and sport. UCLA will fly back to Beijing Wednesday morning and return to L.A. Wednesday night.
