By the Pac-12 Conference
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- Max Homa of CALIFORNIA has been named the Pac-12 Men's Golfer of the Month for September, the Pac-12 announced today.
Homa, a senior from Valencia, Calif., led the Golden Bears to a pair of wins last month as he posted second-place finishes in both events.
California opened the season victorious at the Gopher Invitational in Wayzata, Minn. (Spring Hill Golf Club) as Homa tied for second among individuals with a 2-under 214, carding rounds of 67-70-77.
Homa closed out the month of September with another tie for second as he shot even par 210 (71-70-69) to lead the Bears to a co-title at the PING/Golfweek Preview. Homa's recent success landed him in the top spot in the latest Golfweek individual rankings.
At the PING/Golfweek Preview, which was played at Crabapple Course at the Capital City Club in Alpharetta, Ga., site of the 2013 NCAA Championship, the Bears rallied from a nine-shot deficit after the opening round to earn co-title honors with host Georgia Tech.
