UCLA's Hollingshead named Pac-12 men's soccer player of the week

UCLA's senior midfielder Ryan Hollingshead was named the Pac-12 Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 25- Oct. 2, the Conference announced today.
Hollingshead, a native of Granite Bay, Calif., totaled four points in the opening weekend of Pac-12 Conference play to lead No. 6 UCLA to a sweep of the Bay Area schools. On Friday against STANFORD, Hollingshead tallied his second assist of the year with a cross to Reed Williams for the third goal in the 3-1 victory. UCLA earned a 3-1 win over CALIFORNIA on Sunday, where Hollingshead notched another assist and a goal. The UCLA captain is tied for first on the team in points with three goals and three assists on the season.
Hollingshead was also named to College Soccer News team of the week for his performance this weekend.
This is Hollinghead's first-career weekly honor. This is UCLA's third weekly honor this season and 49th all-time player of the week. UCLA leads the Conference in player of the week honors this season and all-time.
The Bruins are hosting Oregon State on Friday, Oct. 5 at 3 p.m., and Washington on Monday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m., both games will be featured on the Pac-12 Networks. Bruins' matches will be broadcasted in 11 of the unprecedented 28 live Pac-12 men's soccer contests on the Networks this season.
