Washington's Thomas named Pac-12 women's golfer of the month

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Charlotte Thomas of WASHINGTON was named the Pac-12 Women's Golfer of the Month for September, the Pac-12 announced today.
Thomas, a freshman from Singapore, Singapore, became the first Husky women's golfer to win in her collegiate debut, finishing first in the season-opening Oregon State Invitational. Thomas shot 5-under 211 in the 54-hole tournament at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis, Ore., to lead the Huskies to a 25-shot win over the rest of the field. A total of four Huskies notched top-10 finishes in the 90-player field.
She entered the final round in second place but was able to shoot 3-under 69 in the final round to overtake teammate SooBin Kim and earn the win.
The team victory was just the Huskies' second win in the last seven years.
The Huskies moved to No. 2 in the Golfstat.com team rankings.
