California's Cobbs named Pac-12 player of the week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - CALIFORNIA's Justin Cobbs has been named the Pac-12 Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Nov.19-25, the Conference announced Monday.
The Los Angeles, Calif., native was named the DIRECTV Classic Most Valuable Player after leading the Golden Bears to the tournament championship with 58 points in three games. Cobb was 25-of-29 (.862) from the free-throw line and tallied 17 rebounds, 13 assists and six steals in the tournament.
In the 73-70 victory over Drake to open the tournament Cobbs scored four of his 21 points in the final 71 seconds to secure the victory. He shot a weekend high .600 field goal percentage in the 78-58 win over Pacific, where he also went a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line. The junior guard led the team in points in two of the games scoring at least 17 points in each of the three games.
The Golden Bears travel to Wisconsin this week on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 1 p.m. PT on the Big Ten Network.
