EUGENE - The #5 seed University of Oregon volleyball team (27-4) capped a successful first weekend of NCAA action with a 3-0 win over Dayton (27-5) Saturday night at Matthew Knight Arena.
Stanford Advances to Berkeley Regional with Win over WKU
STANFORD, Calif. - The second-ranked Stanford women's volleyball team downed Western Kentucky (25-15, 25-23, 25-15) in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, Saturday, at Maples Pavilion in Stanford, Calif. The Cardinal (29-3) advances to its 10th regional under 12th-year head coach John Dunning. The Lady Toppers finish the season with a 33-4 overall record.
Dawgs Keep Dancing With Thrilling 3-2 Win
SEATTLE - In a 2012 season full of heart stopping comebacks and indelible moments, the Husky volleyball team kept its season alive with yet another thriller, coming back to defeat Hawaii, 3-2, at Alaska Airlines Arena and advance to the NCAA round of 16. The Rainbow Wahine (27-3) pushed the Huskies (25-6) to the brink, holding match point in the fourth set, but Washington found a way to survive, taking the match 20-25, 25-20, 19-25, 27-25, 15-11 in front of 3,709 fans.
Seventh-Seeded Bruins Fall in Four to Michigan State
LOS ANGELES - Seniors Rachael Kidder and Tabi Love each had 14 kills, while sophomore Megan Moenoa posted a double-double with 44 assists and 10 digs, but the seventh-seeded Bruins lost to Michigan State in four sets on Saturday in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at the New Pauley Pavilion. Set scores were 17-25, 27-29, 25-18, 22-25.
