Oregon headed to first-ever NCAA semifinal

Fifth-seeded and sixth-ranked OREGON earned a spot in the NCAA semifinals for the first-time in the history of the program. The Pac-12 boasts the most storied history at the NCAA Championships, with at least one team advancing to the national semifinals for the 29th time all-time. The Pac-12 has won 14 NCAA titles in women's volleyball, the most of any conference in the country. UCLA was last year's national champion.

The Ducks have earned its highest seeding in program history with their regional final appearance last weekend being their first, as well. UO takes on top-seeded Penn State on Thursday, Dec. 13 at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisvile, Ky. The winner of that match plays the winner of the #3 Texas-Michigan clash on Saturday, Dec. 15 for the national title. All matches in Lousiville will be televised on ESPN2.

Seven Pac-12 teams earned NCAA Tournament bids, tied for the most of any conference in the country. STANFORD received the league's automatic berth after claiming the Pac-12 crown, the program's 15th all-time league title and the sixth in the last seven years ... Five of the Conference's seven tournament teams are among the top-16 seeded teams. Stanford is the No. 2 seed, Oregon is the fifth seed. USC is the No. 6 seed, UCLA was the No. 7 seed and WASHINGTON is the No. 13 seed ... Also earning bids were ARIZONA STATE and CALIFORNIA. It was the Sun Devils' first tournament appearance since 2006 ... The Bruins were the defending NCAA Champions ... The Conference has sent at least six teams to the NCAA Tournament for 13-consecutive years. It sent four teams to the regional semifinals for the ninth time in the history of the tournament, with three squads advancing to the regional finals ... There have been 19 upsets by Pac-12 teams so far this season.
