Brown's save preserves game for Stanford
Stanford forward Andy Brown has seen it all, even if he hasn't played much. So you shouldn't be surprised by his wise play on the court. The redshirt senior, who has returned this season despite suffering three ACL tears throughout his career, made a veteran play Friday night that preserved the win for the Cardinal against Northwestern. With the Cardinal nursing just a two point lead with time waning, Brown feverishly chased down a loose ball that was headed out of bounds and last touched by a Stanford player. He then tip-toed the baseline and smartly threw the ball off a unsuspecting Wildcat defender. The ball deflected out of bounds with 2.9 seconds left, preserving the possession for the Cardinal and putting the game out of reach.
Brown finished the game with only two points, but this heady play may have earned him most valuable player Friday.
