Musician makes plea to keep Kelly at Oregon
One recognizable Oregon fan has come up with a creative plan to attempt to persuade Chip Kelly to stay in the Pacific Northwest. Musician and Eugene native Mat Kearney posted a new song titled "Chip Don't Go" on his YouTube page yesterday. In the description for the video, Kearney says he wrote and recorded the song at home Thursday night during the Ducks' convincing 35-17 win over Kansas State in the Fiesta Bowl.
Kearney's lyrics ask the highly sought-after coach to pass up interest from at least three NFL teams. Instead, he emphasizes Autzen Stadium's loud crowds, Oregon's recent success and even the program's wide array of uniforms as reasons to stay in Eugene.
