Boyd's disappearing act beats Buffs' defense

Jan 25, 2013

Cal's Brittany Boyd may have pulled off one of the greatest magic acts seen this season at Haas Pavilion on Friday night.  In the final minutes of the Bears' comeback bid against No. 20 Colorado, the sophomore made a nifty save to keep the ball in play at the defensive end. While her teammates wrangled her no-look pass, Boyd's momentum carried her into a darkened corner of the arena. With most of the Berkeley crowd losing sight of the guard, apparently so did the Buffaloes' defense.

Boyd was back on the court in a flash, sprinting down the floor to convert on a layup she had set up with her hustle at the opposite end. She finished the game with 10 points and five rebounds in the Golden Bears' 59-56 win Friday night.
