PAC-12 NOTES

STANFORD has won three straight, and five of its last seven after starting league play 0-2. The Cardinal has efficiently used the long ball in their last three wins, shooting 31-of-54 (.574) from beyond the arc. Sophomore G Chasson Randle is shooting 14-of-20 (.600) from three-point range over the last four games, while senior F John Gage is 13-of-18 (.722) from three-point territory over the last five games... Over the last three games, junior F Josh Huestis has posted a pair of double-doubles and is averaging 14.0 ppg and 11.3 rpg.

ARIZONA STATE freshman G Jahii Carson is averaging 21.7 points and 5.0 assists in the past seven games... He has already set the ASU freshman mark for assists with 116 assists (previous record was 114 set by Bobby Thompson in 1983-84)... In the seven games away from home (ASU is 4-3) Carson is averaging 23.4 points, 4.6 assists, 36.9 minutes and is shooting 53.9 percent from the field (62-of-115). In the four Pac-12 road games Carson is averaging 24.3 points, 36.8 minutes, and is shooting .548 (40-of-73) from the field with 3-to-1 assist-turnover ratio.

ARIZONA's defense has limited the opposition to 15-of-59 (.254) from three-point range over the last four games. UA has held those four opponents to an average of 63.0 ppg, which is 3.8 ppg less than the scoring defense figure in the first five conference games. In the two games on the Washington road swing, the Huskies and Cougars combined to shoot .387 (41-of-106) from the field.

ARIZONA senior F Solomon Hill enters Wednesday's game with Stanford just one rebound shy of 700 for his career, which puts him on the precipice of some elite Arizona basketball company.  With 1,247 career points already to Hill's credit, should he reach 700 career rebounds, he would be just the sixth Wildcat in the last 16 seasons to score more than 1,200 points and grab more than 700 rebounds, joining Channing Frye (2001-05), Michael Wright (1998-2001), Jordan Hill (2006-09), Hassan Adams (2002-06) and Ivan Radenovic (2003-07).

OREGON was averaging 14.7 assists and 15.3 turnovers per game with a healthy point guard Dominic Artis in the lineup. Without him, those averages have shifted to 10.0 assists and 21.7 turnovers over the last three games.

WASHINGTON senior point guard Abdul Gaddy needs five assists to reach 400 career assists. He'll become one of five Huskies all-time with 400 career assists.

With 991 career points, OREGON STATE junior F Devon Collier leads a trio of Beavers who have each scored over 900 career points. Junior G Ahmad Starks has posted 928 career points, while senior F Joe Burton has tallied 905 career points.

After picking up two wins this week, CALIFORNIA head coach Mike Montgomery is now one shy of tying former Washington coach Hec Edmundson (1921-47) for fourth place among the Pac-12's winningest coaches. Montgomery owns a 265-140 record in Pac-12 games. Below is the top five:

1) Lute Olson, ARIZ (1984-2007)* 327-101
2) John Wooden, UCLA (1949-75)* 304-74
3) Slats Gill, OSU (1929-64)* 276-241
4) Hec Edmundson, WASH (1921-47) 266-146
5) Mike Montgomery, STAN/CAL (1986-04/2009- ) 265-140

HOME SWEET HOME... Pac-12 teams sport a 114-37 (.755) home court record so far this season. In Pac-12 play, the home team holds a 31-23 (.574) advantage... OREGON is perfect at home this season. The Ducks have run off 14 straight home court victories this season for their best home start since they won all 16 homes games during the 2001-02 season. Dating back to last season, the Ducks have extended their home-court winning streak to 20 games, which currently ranks tied for sixth in the nation.
