By the Pac-12 Conference

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - The Pac-12 Conference office announced today the Pac-12 women's gymnastics weekly honors for the week of Jan. 28- Feb. 3. UCLA's Vanessa Zamarripa was named the Gymnast of the Week, UTAH's Tory Wilson was voted Specialist of the Week, and UCLA's Danusia Francis was selected as the Freshman/Newcomer of the week.

Zamarripa earned her third gymnast of the week honor this season after dominating in the UCLA victory over STANFORD 196.925-196.200. The senior, who hails from O'Fallon, Ill., scored a perfect 10.0 on vault to place first. It was her seventh career perfect ten on the apparatus. Her 10.0 was the first in the nation on the event this season and only the second 10.0 on any apparatus thus far. She won the floor exercise with a 9.925 and won all-around with a season-high-tying 39.675. Zamarripa tied for second on both bars and beam scoring a 9.85 on bars and a 9.90 on beam. She has now placed first on nine of 14 routines this season and has won the all-around in each of the three meets in which she competed all-around.

Wilson, an Albuquerque, N.M., native, scored a 9.975 on vault to place first in the 196.435-195.450 victory over ARIZONA STATE. Wilson entered the meet ranked No. 2 in the nation on vault, but has moved up to first in the nation after her performance this past weekend. This was her fourth-straight vault title and her score tallied a new career-best. She earned a career-high 9.90 on floor to tie for second. On beam, Wilson tallied a 9.775 to place sixth overall.

Bruin freshman Francis won the balance beam for the third consecutive meet, scoring a career-best-tying 9.925. The freshman has a Top 3 finish on beam in all four meets. Francis also competed on bars for the Bruins scoring a 9.675 and placing tenth overall.

This is Zamarripa's eighth Gymnast of the Week honor, the most of any gymnast ever and her third this season. It is UCLA's 44th all-time and third this season. It is Wilson's second Specialist of the Week honor, earning her first on Jan. 22 and Utah's second all-time. It is Francis' first Freshman/Newcomer of the week honor and UCLA's third all-time.

Gymnast of the Week has been selected every week of the season since 2001. The Specialist of the Week award was added in 2008. It is the first year for Freshman/Newcomer of the Week.

UCLA hosts WASHINGTON, Sacramento State and UC Davis on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 2 p.m. PT. UTAH is at home this week against CALIFORNIA on Friday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. MT.
