Carrick Felix has a lot to smile about

LAS VEGAS - Arizona State star Carrick Felix had a Wednesday to remember. In the morning, Felix learned he had been named the Pac-12 Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Felix earned a Bachelor's degree in communications at ASU in 2012 and is currently completing a Masters of Liberal Studies degree. He boasts a 3.50 GPA and will graduate in the spring. Then in the opening game of the Pac-12 Tournament Wednesday afternoon, Felix scored 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the Sun Devils beat Stanford 89-88 in overtime. Capping it off, Felix talked to Pac-12 Digital about what the award means to him (and his mom), and how he'd like to apply his smarts once his basketball playing days are done. Hint: Smiles are involved.
