Oregon honors rival Beavers on Senior Day
It was a surprising sign of civility in a bitter rivalry known as the Civil War. Before the first pitch in Sunday's three-game series finale at Howe Field, Oregon head coach Mike White extended a gesture to visiting Oregon State that's typically reserved for just the home team.

After bestowing flowers and a congratulatory hug on all of the Ducks' graduating players, he granted the same honor to all of the Beavers' seniors. While it's rare for visiting players to be included in Senior Day festivities, it's even rarer when those players are on the opposite side of one of the Pac-12's most intense rivalries.

The move must have brought the Ducks some good karma as they topped OSU with an 8-0 shutout and finished off the series sweep. Sunday's win also helped Oregon clinch it's first-ever softball conference championship.
