See you at football media day: UCLA’s Anthony Barr

With NFL scouts drooling over Anthony Barr's speed, UCLA coach Jim Mora has to be more than a little excited that the linebacker returned to Westwood for his senior season. What makes Barr's ascent even more impressive and frightening for Pac-12 quarterbacks: 2012 was his first year playing on the defensive side of the ball for the Bruins (Barr spent his first two seasons at fullback.) Expect UCLA's leading sack man from last year to be even more efficient with a full year with the defensive unit under his belt.

A year ago, Barr quickly established himself as one of the Conference's most feared pass rushers, leading the Bruins in sacks (13.5) and tackles for loss (21.5).  His sack total was second in the nation behind Georgia's Jarvis Jones. Barr, a first-team All-Pac-12 selection, had six games with at least seven tackles last season, including a pair of nine-tackle performances against Stanford and Baylor.
