Pac-12 Networks goes east with increased distribution in Midwest and Tennessee regions
As of Aug. 1, 2013 Pac-12 Networks are now available to more fans across the Midwest and Tennessee through Comcast and Google Fiber.
Comcast customers living in areas of Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee now have access to the Networks’ broadcast of 750 live events and studio shows through the cable provider’s Sports Entertainment Package. Comcast customers who receive Pac-12 Networks through their television subscription package also have access to all seven networks live on their PC through XfinityTV.com. Customers can call Comcast at 1-800-XFINITY for more information on getting Pac-12 Networks in their region.
“The Pac-12 has a large and passionate alumni base throughout the country so Comcast’s decision to launch the Pac-12 Networks in both the Midwest and Tennessee regions in time for the start of 2013 fall schedule is great news for our fans,” Pac-12 Networks President Lydia Murphy-Stephans said.
The flourishing Google Fiber TV service has also added Pac-12 Networks to its Sports Plus Package, making all seven networks accessible to its customers in high definition. Google Fiber, which currently serves Kansas City and is coming soon to Austin, Tex. and Provo, Utah markets, is an ultra high-speed fiber network that delivers internet and a full TV channel lineup accessible to customers via their TV or mobile device. The addition of the Pac-12 Networks in these areas comes just in time for a jam-packed sophomore season of live events, including 35 football games, 150 men’s basketball games and hundreds of Olympic sports. In addition to all of the live games, Pac-12 Networks will also feature original programming and content such as pregame and postgame shows, the Pac-12 Playbook coaches’ show and classic games. Several new shows making their debut in the fall are Pac-12 Football Weekly, Pac-12 Sports Report and the all-access football docu-series The Drive.
