Men’s Basketball Television Schedule Announced
BERKELEY – The California men’s basketball team will play in front of a national television audience at least 29 times this season with television information and game times announced by the Pac-12 Conference on Tuesday, Sept. 3. The Golden Bears will play on the ESPN family of networks 12 times, with 14 appearances on the Pac-12 Networks and three contests on Fox Sports’ new national platform, Fox Sports 1.
All but two of Cal’s 31-game regular-season schedule will currently be televised, with game times and television information yet to be announced for the Bears’ non-conference road games at UC Santa Barbara (Dec. 6) and Creighton (Dec. 22).

The Bears will open the regular season at home against Coppin State on Friday, Nov. 8 at 9 p.m. (PT) in the first of eight home games on the Pac-12 Networks to start the season. Cal is slated for 8 p.m. (PT) start times in November home contests against Denver (Nov. 12), Oakland (Nov. 15) and Southern Utah (Nov. 18).
Cal’s first games away from Berkeley will also mark its first appearance on the ESPN family of networks. The Bears meet Arkansas in the EA SPORTS Maui Invitational on Monday at noon (PT) on ESPN2. Cal’s next two games in the tournament will be televised on either ESPN or ESPN2.
Four of Cal’s final six games of the calendar year will take place at Haas Pavilion all on the Pac-12 Networks. UC Irvine visits Berkeley in a 7 p.m. (PT) game on Dec. 2 before the Bears welcome Nevada in an 8 p.m. (PT) tip-off on Dec. 10. The conference’s television network will air Cal’s games against Fresno State (Dec. 14) and Furman (Dec. 28) at 3 p.m. (PT).
Cal opens league play with a pair of games on the new Fox Sports 1, traveling to Stanford on Thursday, Jan. 2 at 6 p.m. (PT) and Oregon on Thursday, Jan. 9 at 8 p.m. (PT). The Bears will also play on Fox Sports 1 in a home contest against USC on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 5 p.m. (PT).
Stanford comes to Berkeley on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. (PT) and the Bears travel to Arizona on Wed., Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. (PT) with both contests slated for an ESPN2 telecast. ESPNU will air both of Cal’s games in Los Angeles against USC (Jan. 22 at 8 p.m. (PT)) and UCLA (Jan. 26 at 5 p.m. (PT)). A road trip to Oregon State (Jan. 11 at 5 p.m. (PT)) and four Wednesday 8 p.m. (PT) contests – at home vs. Washington (Jan. 15), Arizona State (Jan. 29) and Utah (March 5) and at Washington State (Feb. 12) – round out the Bears’ appearances on ESPNU.
Cal’s remaining regular-season appearances on the Pac-12 Networks include home games against Washington State (Jan. 18 at 1 p.m. (PT)), Arizona (Feb. 1 at 7:30 p.m. (PT)), UCLA (Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. (PT)) and the regular-season finale against Colorado (March 8 at 3:30 p.m. (PT)). The Bears will also face Washington (Feb. 15 at noon (PT)) and Arizona State (March 1 at 3 p.m. (PT)) on the conferences’ national television platform.
The Pac-12 Networks and Fox Sports 1 will provide coverage of the Pac-12 Tournament in Las Vegas, Nev. March 12-15.
The Golden Bears return four starters, five of their top seven scorers, and their top-two rebounders from a 21-win campaign last season, while also welcoming in a top-20 recruiting class this fall. Cal capped its winningest five-year stretch in more than 50 years with an appearance in the third round of the NCAA Tournament in 2012-13. Head coach Mike Montgomery, the NCAA’s ninth-winningest active Division I men’s basketball coach with 656 victories, enters his sixth season in Berkeley as the fourth-winningest coach (272 career league wins) in Pac-12 history.
