Uniform watch: More games, more colors

Sep 7, 2013

Now that most fan bases have finally seen their team in action after a long offseason, they can begin to appreciate the beauty of the minute details of college football — things like matte helmets, custom cleats and bright red gloves. Let’s see how the Pac-12 suited up during Week 2.

Arizona StateThe only thing more impressive than Arizona State’s 55-0 season-opening win over Sacramento State Thursday might have been how good the Sun Devils looked. The team sported its classic maroon and gold color combination: simple yet elegant.

UtahThe all-red look worked well enough for Utah in its season-opening win last week, so why not try it again?

OregonThe Ducks seem to put out almost as many uniform combinations as they do points. The white jersey sounds simple enough — even with its "sunburst wings"  — but the steel pants are classic Oregon.

How about a closer look at those custom cleats?

CaliforniaNot that the Golden Bears don’t look great in navy jerseys and gold pants, but that’s the same combination they wore last week. When will Cal rock those new grey pants? Or, better yet, when’s the next Gold Out?

Oregon StateA side-by-side comparison of Oregon State’s locker room next to Hawaii’s. With a sleek, black look, the Beavers’ uniforms are just a little bit flashier.

Colorado"Standard" doesn't have to mean boring for Colorado. Nothing wrong with black and gold.
