The week in social media photos: Sept. 2-8

Sep 8, 2013

It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words. By that logic, 12 photos — all from social media accounts across the Pac-12 — should be worth at least twelve thousand. Without further ado, here are some of the best photos found on social media from the past week, Sept. 2-8.

We should all be so lucky to ride in one of those trucks.

Pat Tillman recorded 238 career tackles and three interceptions as a safety for the Arizona Cardinals before abruptly retiring from the NFL to join the U.S. Army after the Sept. 11 attacks. He was killed in Afghanistan in 2004. Arizona State honored Tillman, the former Sun Devil and 1997 Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year, with the “Tillman Tunnel” leading out onto the field at Sun Devil Stadium.

Cal has a lot of spirited fans, but who else could pull off this hat?

The Pac-12 has a lot of pretty campuses. Colorado's is as beautiful as any. And those clouds!

In Oregon’s 59-10 win over Virginia on Saturday, De’Anthony Thomas turned on the burners for three touchdowns and 183 total yards of offense.

With a stat line like that, it’s no wonder quarterback Sean Mannion was practically glowing during the Beavers’ 33-14 victory over Hawaii Saturday night.

The Stanford women’s volleyball team was in Austin, Texas this weekend for some non-conference competition against Florida and Texas. The Cardinal lost both matches, but at least middle blockers Carly Wopat and Megan McGehee got to see a longhorn.

The UCLA football team had a bye this week, so let’s look ahead to the squad’s Nov. 15 matchup with Washington, when the Bruins will be wearing these sweet new “L.A. Midnight” uniforms.

USC linebacker Devon Kennard had a busy game Saturday night, logging five tackles, one fumble recovery and a sack. Apparently his week leading up to the game was busy, too.

Utah fans take some spiffy rides to the game.

Washington’s cross country team was running into the sun on Sunday. Luckily, assistant coach Lauren Denfeld was running behind to catch this nice photo.

Perhaps Berg told Leach that with clear eyes and full hearts, the Cougars couldn’t lose against USC the next night.
